Establishing "Homes of Love" For Special People With Special Needs....
Why We Should All CARE
When we CARE for InDwellings, we CARE for people -- people like Roger and his parents, Jim and Barbara
Please...won't you CARE?
Celebrate the unique gifts of persons with disabilities.
Roger is a valued member of his family. Roger is a doting uncle. He loves to travel with his parents to visit his brothers and their families out of state.
Address the issues faced by families caring for loved ones with special needs.
Roger has always lived with his parents, Jim and Barbara, who are also featured in our video. They have done all they can do to make sure he has "his own place" within their home. However, they have always known that a day will come when they can no longer keep Roger at home with them. A recent health crisis for Barbara brought that fact closer. They need to plan for Roger's future before the time of a larger crisis. Recognize the call to provide for those with developmental disabilities.
Jim and Barbara want Roger to be loved and respected. They want him to have safe guidance for his daily activities. They want him to be encouraged to maintain as much independence as possible. They want him to be part of a larger community of faith. They want what all parents want for their children: a home of love.
Embrace the InDwellings mission as an answer to that call.
Now is the time for our community to CARE about the success of InDwellings. We pray that through the involvement of our churches -- and the community at large -- we can truly CAREfor Roger. We pray we can provide Roger, and other adults with special needs, a place of dignity, freedom, and hope. Please, won't you help us make that happen?
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are we establishing these homes?
We are establishing these homes because there is an immense need for such care for adults with special needs. Waiting lists for state-managed homes are years long. But more than meeting an urgent need, these homes will provide a loving environment for adults with special needs. InDwellings will work diligently to ensure that our residents experience love as they achieve their human potential in the context of a caring home.
What will the funds raised purchase?
Funds are needed to build or purchase the homes, purchase vans for transportation of the residents, hire certified staff for the supervision of the residents, and to provide care and programs for InDwellings' residents. InDwellings would like to raise enough so funds from the principal would sustain the homes in perpetuity, as well as build or buy new homes.
Who will help us achieve the goal?
InDwellings is seeking support from a variety of sources. We are especially seeking the financial support of churches, individuals, corporations, civic organizations, and foundations. Please go to the "To Donate or Inquire" page on this site to make your donation by credit card, to download pledge forms for individuals and churches, or to see our list of Commemorative Naming Opportunities.
Whom can I contact for more information?
For more information, please contact our Executive Director, Paula Carnahan, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or any InDwellings board member listed on the "To Donate or Inquire" page of this website.
